An academic journal showcasing the legal scholarship of Western Australian law students

The Western Australian Student Law Review is a student-run academic journal, providing an outlet for Western Australian law students to publish their work.

Although the WASLR follows in the tradition of other student publications by exclusively publishing the work of law students, it is unique in that it accepts submissions from students of any of Western Australia’s five law schools. Publication of the WASLR is electronic and open access. Issues are available through this website and via AustLII. The WASLR is a generalist publication, accepting submissions on any issue of law. It is comprised of articles, case notes, and commentary. We accept shorter articles (3,000-5,000 words) to accommodate submission of reworked assessment pieces submitted for undergraduate units.

The first volume of the WASLR was published in July 2017 with a foreword by the Honourable Chief Justice Martin AC. New volumes are published annually at the beginning of each year.

  • Provide a medium for students to participate in academic legal discussion, whilst offering students the insight into publication;
